Mentors needed: Life Sciences Summer Institute

The Life Sciences Summer Institute needs YOU to help with this amazing summer internship program! Can you provide a spot for a recent high school graduate and/or community college student to learn about science careers and experience the wonderful mentorship that we all need to succeed in STEM?

The project coordinator is looking for internship placements for 10 students in the life sciences (two 17-yr-olds and eight 18+ students). There is funding to support their wages, liability, and insurances, but they need to find somewhere to learn and someone willing to mentor them.

The experience could be based in a wet/dry laboratory, but is not limited to lab work and thus could be in an administrative department as well. The positions will pay the students $11/hour with an expected part-time schedule of about 20-30 hours per week. They are ready to start immediately and would be available until mid September or some until the beginning of November (for up to 300 hours).
